Brent Fuscaldo (Mako Sica):
Tangerine Dream - Atem (1973)
unsettling, subtlety, under the surface, bubbling, toms, exploration, head space, imagination
Jessi Hector (label PR):
Best Coast. Because it makes San Francisco seem warmer than it unfortunately is this summer.
Brian Lightbody (Dragon Turtle):
new:
wild nothing - gemini
wasn't familiar with wild nothing before this summer, when I was recommended it at the mexican summer store in greenpoint. low run silk screened cover on clear vinyl. the record has only occasionally left the turntable this summer. dreamy washy pop. sounds current without sounding "of-the-moment". has been the soundtrack to waking up with coffee and charting weekend adventures.
old:
durutti column - return of the durutti column
i have been heavily into the durutti column all year long and this summer especially. this album features beautiful guitar instrumentals with classic martin hannet production and sounds. an amazing record, completely unique and an oddity considering the time and it's peers (late 70's manchester).

Lou Rogai (Lewis & Clarke):
Toss up between the new Lower Dens album and Hendrix's "Waterfalls" on repeat.
Both of them get me in "the mood".
Melissa Sherwood (Main St. Jukebox / La Soc):
Yeasayer "Odd Blood" keeps finding it's way onto the turntable. Great album from beginning to end.
